This was a controlled burn reported out of control. Multiple rescue and deputies were notified. The burn attracted much attention from drivers, who could see the smoke at least 15 miles away. In the photo, a man monitors the burn with water containers on the back of his ATV. The farm ground owners requested a CD made of the photos I took.

Officials made many mistakes during the investigation and her father, the killer, is a free man for the moment and the case has never been to trial. My publisher ran one photo, this one. He should have ran an entire photo page. They are volunteers and it was Sunday morning.

The rescue volunteer peering into the vehicle was in a dress and heels. She worked across the street. An accident ensued and she darted from work to help. That's how they are.

I have attended the Seward County Special Olympics Banquet since its inception. The coaches, secretary, treasurer, parents and all are the most caring people I've ever met. The man holding the framed photo, is the master of ceremonies every year. The photo was presented as a thank you and it is a photo I took of the Olympians the year before. What fun!
